SENIOR TECHNICIAN
JOB POSITION
Summary:
Provide routine technical
support for area of assignment under supervision. Fabricate,
assemble, test, install, and perform general maintenance and repair
of various electronics test equipment. Perform preventative and
routine maintenance of equipment, troubleshoot and repair. Conduct
safety inspection and assist with identification, packaging, and
installation of electrical components. Develop procedures for
finished work and enter into a database or spreadsheet. Assist in
design of equipment and systems; construction and assembly of
experimental and support equipment, including Military Test Systems
and Jet Engine Tests Systems. Procure and maintain inventories of
small parts, supplies, materials, and equipment.
Education/Experience:
Requires a High
School diploma and 10 or more years of Electronics/technical
experience.
Or
An Associates Degree
in a related Electronics or Technical field
Fabricate
instrumentation systems from schematics, sketches, and verbal
instructions. Test, install, and maintain operational status of
equipment and systems. Assume responsibility for digital and analog
hardware in VME, VXI, PXI, and stand-alone Military and Jet Engine
test systems. Perform hands-on troubleshooting and maintenance of
high frequency analog, high speed digital and digital signal
processing circuits, small signal amplifiers and low voltage power
supply circuits. Layout and fabrication of printed circuit boards.
Apply skills pertinent to close-up electronics work including
soldering and light mechanical assembly. The ability to read and
understand circuit schematics, and a general knowledge of electronic
test equipment such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes and signal
generators a plus. Availability for occasional off-shift and
emergency call-in service.
